Making room in your heart for that extra little one (or two, or three...) takes presidency, and you sometimes put your own happiness on the back burner for a little while.
I had the pleasure of reading How To Catch Happy by Jim Kukral. Here's a little about the book from the author:
Are you happy? Do you want to be? How To Catch Happy is a reminder of how to reconnect with the the inner happiness inside you. This short read will inspire you to take another look at your life and career and reexamine your priorities.
I went into this book without the slightest idea what to expect. Am I happy? To an extent. Do I want to be? Of course.
How To Catch Happy was a light, refreshing read that touched on heavier topics without sounding preachy or overly dramatic. I liked it a good amount for this reason! Jim's stories are easy to relate to, as many of us readers know people similar to those he meets along the way. It was an inspirational read, one I'd recommend to anyone looking to find that little bit of themselves they'd left behind at some point.
As a stay at home mom, my priorities of course lie with my little 'un. Like I said before, though, your own happiness can get lost and sometimes forgotten altogether at times. This read has me reminiscing about what made me truly happy before baby arrived, and also sets the gears in motion to make that happiness a reality in my new found mama-life. A bit of an eye-opener, methinks.
So go out! Be happy! Find what you love to do and DO IT! (Had to end on a happy, shouting-to-the-world note.)
