Have you heard of Influenster? It's a great site where bloggers, vloggers, and others with a large social network can earn "badges" and receive a box of goodies (called a Vox Box) related to their areas of interest.
My first box to review was the 2011 Holiday Vox Box, which contained a handy product called NYC New York Color Liquid Lipshine.
As far as make-up goes these days, I'm a grab-chapstick-and-go kinda girl.
I was a little intimidated by the thought of wearing a lipcolor, as I'm uber-pale and usually go nude. (lip-wise, focus.) My fears were put to rest after the first application, however.
I received the color Nude York City, which is a sheer, flattering color for any skin tone. Here's a little bit from newyorkcolor.com:
"A beauty-editor favorite is Liquid Lipshine ($2.49). It has pure pigments that create a 3-D gloss effect. Vitamin E provides shine and a moisturizing feel. The formula is non-sticky, super shiny & soft. Available in 10 on-trend shades from neutral nudes, to berries & fuchsias."
For the life of me, I can't think of a better way to describe it. Non-sticky, super shiny & soft. The color is light enough to go over a lipstick, yet stands alone as a great colored gloss. The sheen of color lasts for hours, and my lips were left feeling smooth and moisturized at the end of the day.
Back in my make-up days, I wore a super-shiny fushia pink expensive-brand plumping gloss and loved the way it made my lips look. However, it smelled and tasted horrible and was spiderweb-sticky to anything it came in contact with. Ick! This NYC lipshine is a refreshing polar opposite. While no one should be eating the lipgloss, if it happens to come in contact with your taste buds this NYC gloss is pleasant. It also smells like vanilla frosting..yum!
You can purchase NYC New York Color Liquid Lipshine from Walmart, Target, Rite Aid, CVS, Family Dollar, Duane Reade, Kmart, HEB, and others. It retails for just $2.49.
