ActivewearUSA {Review}

As my health quest continues, I find myself looking for something other than the standard cotton t-shirt and sweatpants to exercise in. Don't get me wrong, I'm totally a t-shirt and jeans kinda girl. But when it comes to active wear, well, I'm pretty clueless.

Thank goodness for ActivewearUSA.com! With over 50 brands of fitness wear in stock, they carry something for just about everybody.

"ActivewearUSA.com was founded with the goal of providing the best yoga activewear and fitness clothing on the market, to encourage women to look and feel their best while enhancing their life through fitness."

Speaking from perspective, I can honestly say that not having anything specific to wear during workouts (other than a generic sports bra) has definitely kept me from being as active as I'd like. In order for you to "look good," you have to feel good about yourself. Taking a walk into town while sweating through a cotton t-shirt and jeans that chafe didn't make me feel good about myself. At all.

I had the pleasure of trying out two wonderful pieces offered by ActivewearUSA.com. First up is the KOS Basic Capri Leggings. (in Metal)

Not the most flattering pictures, but much better than seeing those drumsticks in the buff. These carpi's are made of a material called Supplex, which is shrink and fade resistant, soft like cotton, and super-stretchy! It actually flatters your curves and hides flaws (cellulite, etc) instead of accentuating them. They'd even look great as daywear with a tunic top or long t-shirt paired with 'em! I think I would wear these leggings all day every day, if I could. They're firm enough to lightly compress the legs and hold back the "jiggle," yet not restrictive to any movement whatsoever. Actually, having these on made me feel much more flexible due to the lack of bulky fabrics that I'm used to on regular everyday pants.

My favorite part of these leggings is the fact that they're mid-rise in the waist. Most activewear bottoms I've seen ride fairly low because, well, they're meant for fit, active people with no gut. For those of us with that precious muffin-top (or more) the waistband on these leggings sits right on top, covering most of it and ensuring that they won't fall down. Yay!

Next up is the ALO Activewear Performance Tee. (in Topaz)

This shirt was something totally new to me, as I don't think I've ever owned a stretchy t-shirt. It's a beautiful bright color, and like the carpi's is super-stretchy. I didn't think to take any personal photos of this one while wearing it, but the fit was pretty accurate. It's not skin-tight like a lot of active clothing is, which is a breath of fresh air. My favorite aspect of the shirt has to be the length. Most t-shirts (all shirts, really) fall way too short for a long-torsoed person like myself, so when I raise my arms it usually looks like a crop-top. Not so with this one! Plenty of length to keep all areas covered. Another neat part is that the back has a u-shaped stretchy mesh section for breathe-ability, as well as two small mesh sections around the kidney (I think) areas. Once again, no restrictions in movement and works wonders at wicking moisture away from the skin.

I couldn't have asked for a better pair to start my active wear collection, these both were spectacular. With so many items to choose from, I definitely recommend checking out ActivewearUSA.com for your yoga, dance, and fitness attire!
