My day starts off with a blended smoothie of frozen strawberries & blueberries, apple juice, and fat free vanilla yogurt. I've been dying to add some baby spinach leaves into the mix, but am somewhat apprehensive. From everything I read adding spinach adds TONS of nutrients, very few calories, and doesn't really alter the taste of the fruit smoothie. Yet still part of me holds back for some reason...
Lunch now consists of a spinach salad with various vegetables (onions, peppers, mushrooms), a little bit of cheese, usually some tofu, and fat free italian dressing. It's pretty freakin' tasty, and gives me good amounts of energy throughout the day. Whee!
Does anyone have any healthy, easy-to-make smoothie recipes to share? I know pretty much all fruit is interchangeable, but I'm looking for fruit/veggie combos to pack a powerful punch.
Been thinking of trying out this one, except switching out the banana for something else (allergic.)
