Each of us yearns for that one true love-our own soul mate. Now the search has become much easier with the help of Excuse Me, Your Soul Mate Is Waiting. Marla Martenson has combined her talent and wisdom with the sure-fire techniques of the Law of Attraction to help you bring that special love into your life.
There are just four simple and easy steps to follow-
1. Name what you DON'T want.
2. Name what you DO want.
3. Feel what you want.
4. Allow it to happen.
Excuse Me, Your Soul Mate Is Waiting is an enjoyable read for those looking to better themselves, but not as profoundly motivating and inspiring as I'd hoped. There are definitely moments that got me thinking about my current situation and my attitudes towards others, negative vibes and all. We tend to get stuck in ruts of negative thinking when it comes to relationships, and Marla gives exercises and ideas to help turn those negatives into positives using the Law of Attraction. She explains that it's all in the way we think about ourselves and situations that draws certain types of people to us. Like attracts like! I especially enjoyed Marla's matchmaking stories. She gives a very unique perspective, as rarely do we ever get to hear BOTH side of the story from a first date. Often, comedy ensues!
I have a hard time voicing my opinion as to what I less-than-like about products, so bear with me! I felt that the advice about who we "should" be looking for is a bit antiquated. Although Marla mentions that no one is perfect, it seems that the book is about searching for perfection in your soul mate. She refers to time spent in non-ideal relationships as "wasted" time, though this is hardly the case. Experiences are there for us to learn from, and most relationships (even first "loves") give us fond memories to look back on. If one waits for the perfect moment, and has a set schedule for events to happen, how long to wait before doing or saying certain things, etc....it's just too much structure. I'm a passionate and emotional Pisces who tends to do things spur-of-the-moment, and that works for me. However, I know that not everyone is the same and this book will definitely be someone's "go-to" when direction is needed.
I'd recommend this book to those who are searching for someone to share their life with, but make sure to follow your own instincts as well and live for each moment. Cherish the time you have and enjoy it with those who make you feel happy and loved, soul mate or not.
Serial Access Mom gives this book 3 out of 5 starfishes!
(This is the first review with my new starfishes rating...and yes, I pluralize many things unnecessarily.)
