Her personal stories are insightful and fun to read and remind me constantly while reading that no one is kitchen-perfect. Eat In, Not Out walks us through nutrition basics, prepping your kitchen, left and right-brain aspects of cooking (ie- quantitative and qualitative), when and where to stock up on fresh foods, and even teaching your children the ways of the kitchen. One section that hit close to home for me was the chapter on cleaning and preparing your kitchen. I have a terrible tendency to impulse buy junk that I think "This would be a perfect addition to such-and-such meal!" It then sits and takes up space in our cupboard until I notice that it expired
