GIANTmicrobes Newest Additions! ~Summer 2012~

Please give a warm welcome to the three newest additions to the GIANTmicrobes family: Rotavirus, Meningitis, and Minnow!

GIANTmicrobes make learning about nasty germs and! We recently reviewed a Gigantic red blood cell, which you can read about hereRegular-sized microbes are enlarged 1,000,000x and plushified using high-quality materials. These awesome germs are cute and educational, each coming with a hang tag filled with information about the microbe and ailments associated with it.

We have the pleasure of introducing you to Rotavirus, one of three new Microbes added to the lineup during the summer of 2012.

Rotavirus is, admittedly, loads more cute in GIANTmicrobe form than in real life. Rotavirus (or "wheel" virus, in Latin) is a common and dangerous childhood illness. Severe diarrhea, fever, and nausea are all symptoms caused by this little guy and his family, often being coined simply as the "stomach flu." Keeping little ones hydrated is the most important thing to do if they come down with this illness. Thankfully there is now a vaccination (Jace's was oral, and he liked the taste!) to help kick this virus to the curb.

We have a love-hate relationship.

Both Jace and I LOVE GIANTmicrobes. I mean love them. I'll see Jace walking around the house hugging his Gigantic red blood cell and bouncing our newest member, Rotavirus, off the floor. (Yep, he kinda bounces!) As always, I'm impressed with GIANTmicrobe's quality and attention to detail when replicating a perfect microbe. Rotavirus is made of a soft fuzzy brown pile fabric and stuffed firm. Bright purple eyes stare right back at you.

Our microbe family!
Rotavirus gets 5/5 stars from the both of us!
