Back when I lived in California I was a huge makeup buff. I had palettes and palettes of eye shadows, mascaras, liners, and lip glosses. I was/am big into the "goth" club scene, and makeup is second nature to most there. Since coming out to Maine (and having a kid) I've put beauty on the back burner. I haven't even thought about buying makeup in at least a year or so. So, needless to say, I was super stoked when the November Starbox from Starlooks showed up at my doorstep! Starbox is a subscription box that arrives monthly, each containing 3-4 full-size makeup items (and surprises!) for just $15, what a great gift for any makeup lover!
November's Starbox is the first of it's kind: Semi-customizable by choosing your skin tone (light, medium, or dark.) Included in this box was a 4-eyeshadow palette, a lip gloss and lipstick-in-one, and a mascara application tool. I received some gorgeous complimentary colors in mine!
The eyeshadow quad in this color palette contained Hint of Rust, Midnight In Mongolia (my fav!), Coffee Bean, and Void Echo. I can't begin to tell you how much I adore this quad, seriously. My first thought when I saw it was "Oh no...these are way too dark for my uber-light skin!" Upon first application, I fell in love. Each color compliments the other colors so well, I didn't even have to work to blend them together. They just did it themselves flawlessly!

Along with the eyeshadows came a Tendergloss lipstick, which is a combination lip gloss and lip stick all in one. My shade was Nude, which by itself washes my lips out a bit, but combined with a deeper hue of gloss really makes my lips dazzle! It's got a hint of sparkle that really catches the light and is super moisturizing, love it!

Last but not least is the 3-in-1 mascara guide/applicator. This really is a handy little tool! You hold it upside down over your newly-shadowed eyelid to protect your perfect eyes as you apply mascara. It's so annoying when you get just the right look and manage to get dark mascara all over it, which is fairly impossible to remove without having to touch up your shadow. This little gadget prevents mascara-blowout on both top and bottom lids!
Each Starbox comes with a quartz crystal as well, which stands for beauty and helps attract energy to the holder. A nice touch, I think, and can be saved to use in a decorative vase or holder for your makeup brushes!
Next month's Starbox is something special. The December box will feature a 15-shade eyeshadow palette, valued at $99, for just $15! Not just makeup fanatics but practically any fashion-forward woman would be thrilled to receive this for the holidays!
