Special Edition February Starbox by Lauren Clark {Review}

Another month has gone by, perfect timing for a new Starbox subscription from Starlooks! February's Starbox is a special edition curated by professional makeup artist Lauren Clark and featuring her favorite Starlooks products.

Have you checked out the Starlooks website yet?  For just $15 + $1.98 shipping each month, you can subscribe to Starbox and receive a box in the mail filled with makeup goodies! Each month's box comes with 3-4 full size makeup items plus fun surprises and tips of the trade for application. Here's my take on the February special edition box:

February's collection is pink-inspired, with fun spring colors to brighten your look! Included in this box are a lip gloss, lip liner, fluid blush, and potted eye liner, all hand-chosen by makeup artist Lauren Clark.

Princess Diaries Infinity Pot Liner
Infinity Pot Liner in Princess Diaries, HD Fluid Blush in Barbie, Lip Gloss in Pink Oasis, and Lip Liner in Tipsy.

First up, the Infinity Pot Liner in Princess Diaries. I usually don't wear such pale colors, especially pinks, but was pleasantly surprised at how versatile this liner can be. With a shadow brush (or even your finger tip) this liner easily becomes an all-over shadow. Since it has heavy opalescent shine it makes a great brow bone highlighter, as well. One note: it really does stay put all day/night, and then some! I even had a bit of a hard time wiping it off my lids with a makeup removing towelette. Now that's some staying power!

Next: the HD Fluid Blush in Barbie. Beware, a little goes a LONG way! This blush is super pigmented and blends easily, so just a tiny dab (think the head of a pin) on the apples of your cheeks will do. Use your finger to blend outwards in small circles until you reach your desired blending. It really does add a touch of spring to your look, fresh sun-kissed cheeks!

The Lip Gloss in Pink Oasis is a nice translucent pinky-purple gloss with a lot of sparkle, which makes it perfect to go over a lipstick or stain. I use mine alone, as I tend not to wear much on my lips. It wasn't sticky or runny, the perfect consistency! I only wish it had a more pleasant smell (it really doesn't have a smell at all, but I love glosses that smell fruity or minty!)

Last up: the extra surprise in the box this month, a Lip Liner in Lauren Clark's signature color Tipsy! It's almost a pinky-coral color, which I was super happy with! Like I said, I normally don't wear much on my lips, but this liner complimented a shade of lipstick I owned already, woohoo! It's also very pigmented, and as you can see from my photos below, I also put it to good use as an accent to eyeliner. Love the color and creamy texture!

A few photos of my "alternative" look using the Lip Liner, Infinity Pot Liner (as a shadow,) and HD Fluid Blush from this box! I paired them with a black pencil liner to complete the look.

 I was also sent a little something special to review this month: the #704 Deluxe Lip brush!

#704 Deluxe Lip Brush

This brush is perfect for applying glosses and creme colors to the lips with precision and care. It is sturdy enough to hold it's tapered shape for precise application, yet soft and flexible to glide smoothly across the lips. What a great addition to anyone's brush collection!
