March Starbox by Starlooks {Review & Giveaway}

Disclosure: I am a paying subscriber of Starbox. I received one Starlooks item in exchange for my honest reviews. Enjoy!

It's that time again! Makeup-time, my favorite time of the month. That's because I subscribe to Starbox by Starlooks, where for just over $17 a box of fabulous, high-quality makeup is delivered to my doorstep each month!

Everyone, please welcome the March Starbox. ...Hi, March Starbox.

This "mixed" month included not one, but two special little extras. In addition to the three full-sized makeup products, it also came with a small not-available-for-purchase-yet container of Lip Sugar and a coupon code for 20% off all eye products for the month of April! Let's take a look at the Lip Sugar first:

Pour a little sugar on me, honey.
Starlooks Lip Sugar is a treat for your lips! This all-natural lip scrub gently exfoliates and softens dry, chapped lips and allows your lips to soak-in that beautiful lipstick better. Lipstick will last longer and apply smoother with just one application! I seriously can't get enough of this stuff...it smells like fresh vanilla frosting and feels divine! To use simply apply a tiny dab to lips, rub in, then tissue off. That's it. Now you're left with soft, supple, kissable lips. Mwah!

Now for the heart of the Starbox: the makeup! This month included a long-awaited product in the Starlooks world...the Lengthening Mascara in Black. I LOVE this lash brush...love. It's big and bushy, making it easy to reach my smaller than average lashes. It creates a clump-free layer of pure pigment on your lashes, coating them from base to tip. I mean, you can really feel this brush grabbing each lash and coating it completely, it's nuts! The tube is sturdy and heavy and the product isn't too goopy, I appreciate that.

Next up: Eye shadow in Disarray. This shadow looks almost black in the pan, but goes on a dark navy with smoky gray undertones. Navy is a classic color for spring and pairs well with most neutral tones like white, black, beige and brown. This dark, pigmented color also makes a great smokey eye! I've used it several times already (it's barely even spring!) and can tell you that it applies smooth and blends readily with most every color I've tried thus far. Especially great for when you want a bold look, but don't want that full punch of black.

Swatches of eye shadow in Disarray and lipstick in Flutter.

 Last but not least, the moisture-rich lipstick in Flutter. This color looked way too bold for me at first glance. It appears very orangey in-tube, but once applied looks like more of a rusty red. I actually really like it...almost looks natural on a redhead! The color is full-coverage and shimmery, so it catches the light and reflects brilliantly. I've found that my preferred look with this 'stick is to apply Flutter first and blot lips on a tissue until excess is gone, then apply a nude semi-sheer gloss or lipstick over for a more natural shade.

i-primer in Medium

But wait! There's more! Every month in exchange for my honest reviews I am granted one extra product from the Starlooks line. This month I received their i-primer in medium shade. Now, you've seen my pictures. I am definitely not medium...but I make this work! If you can tell from my photos I have hooded eyes, so I deal with shadow and liner migrating into the creases on my lids constantly. i-primer puts an immediate halt to that...for almost the entire day! You apply the primer to your lids before putting on any eye makeup and it provides a base for the makeup, much like foundation for your face. It also evens out any inconsistencies in color or texture on your lids. Although this primer was a few shades too yellow/dark for my skin I found that I can cover it with my regular daily shadows and it works quite well! Next time I'd definitely go with the clear option, though.

Here, take a look at my giant head. I'm wearing my i-primer in Medium, shadow in Disarray and Midnight in Mongolia (from the November Starbox), a black pencil liner, Lengthening mascara, and lipstick in Flutter.

PS- Did you know that Starlooks also sends you a birthday Starbox on your birth month? Free of charge! So neat! Just look at all the goodies I got in mine for March...I just about jumped for joy! I definitely did a little happy-dance when I noticed that one of my birthday products was the kohl eyeliner in black, I've needed a new black liner for so long! I also received the lipstick and matching lip liner in Kinky, not something I would have normally picked out for myself but fell in love with once on.

And the moment you've all been waiting for...the giveaway!

Starlooks has afforded me the privilege of offering one lucky Serial Access Mom reader their very own March Starbox! This box will be identical to mine and include: Lengthening Mascara in black, Eyeshadow in disarray, Lipstick in flutter, and vanilla Lip sugar.
